Wild Mushrooms Hunting Events All Οver Europe

Every autumn, wild mushrooms enthusiasts find their way to the woods to search for and collect their favorite fungi species, that nature plentifully provide. Among many wild mushroom species, of the Fall’s fruiting period, Amanita caesarea, Boletus edulis, Cantharellus cibarius and Macrolepiota procera bubble over the baskets of the wild mushrooms hunters, to finally become a delicious meal, for those who with great effort managed to locate and collect them.

As part of this activity, every year all around Europe many organizations, communities, as well as tourism businesses, organize mushroom festivals and special mushroom events. These events become attractions for those who are experienced mushroom pickers and they want to discover new places, where wild mushrooms grow and of course for those who make their first steps in the world of mushrooms and just want to learn how to search for and recognize wild forest mushrooms. There is no dought that these people and many others see such events as an opportunity to combine their holidays with a hobby that seems very special.

  • Mushroom Festival in the Ventoux, France, on 9 October 2016
  • In France, in the region of Provence, Mont Ventoux is known as the Giant of Provence. In the mushroom festival of Ventoux, which takes place in Saint Trinit, the visitors can attend the mycological talk and take the tour in the Ventoux woods for wild mushrooms picking. After that, they can enjoy a special gourmet meal with local products and have fun in the various musical events that take place during the festival.

  • Mushroom Festival in Eguisheim, France, on 29 October 2016
  • Another mushroom festival will take place in France on 29 October in 2016, at Eguisheim, the birthplace of winegrowing in Alsace. In this festival the visitors can discover many different species of mushrooms through the numerous exhibitions and enjoy the various available dishes with mushrooms.

  • Mushroom Fair in Beceite, province of Teruel, region of Aragón, Spain on 15 – 16 October 2016
  • An organized mushroom foray for picking wild mushrooms, and then an exhibition of the collected fungi will take place in the small beautiful village Beceite in Spain. Apart from the opportunity to taste the various kinds of cooked mushrooms, visitors will have the chance to select and buy mushrooms and everything linked to mushroom gathering.
